NAME SCOPE.
Corporation approved by Prime Minister.
Date of Establishment May 30, 1994.
(Transformed into General Incorporated Foundation on April 1, 2013.)
Objectives Specialists Center of Port and Airport Engineering (SCOPE), a General Incorporated Association, promotes research, engineering, about the technology and systems for construction, maintenance and management projects for ports, coastal areas and airports, and supports the implementation of such projects.
It is a corporation established for the purpose of promoting port and airport improvement to contribute to the development of the Japanese economy.
Activities SCOPE does the following to achieve its objectives.
  1. Research and study about technology
  2. Research and study about systems and their development
  3. Collect, analyze and provide information about technology
  4. Popularize and develop technology and systems, hold workshops and lectures, and issue publications
  5. Examine and evaluate technology
  6. Certify and register engineers
  7. Comprehensive technical support
  8. Other projects necessary to achieve the objectives of the center
History
May 1994 Port Construction Technology Service Center established
April 1996 Name changed to the Port and Airport Construction Technology Service Center
Institute of Construction Management established
April 2013 Renamed to Specialists Center of Port and Airport Engineering.
April 2014 Disaster Response Support Office established
July 2017 Offshore Wind Power Office established
